Other previous work includes Olaf’s Snow Fest at Disney California Adventure, the Sea Street Band at SeaWorld, and various productions with the Los Angeles Musicians Collective. He has performed on-stage in regional theatre work including Evita at Claremont’s Candlelight Pavilion, and played trombone in the pit orchestra for the West Coast premiere of Allegiance at East West Players. His freelance work in the Los Angeles area includes performances on tuba, bass trombone, trombone, euphonium, and trumpet. Bobby’s film and television credits include Canterbury Glass, HBO’s Perry Mason, Jimmy Kimmel Live, LipSync Battle, Jim Jeffries Show, and LA to Vegas; commercials for Apple, Method, Outdoorsy, Capital One, and Remy Martin; and music videos for BTS, DaBaby, Blimes Brixton and Zac Brown Band.

Bobby is also an avid brass and music coach. He earned a master’s degree in Tuba Performance from Azusa Pacific University and has over a decade of individual, large, and small ensemble instruction in multiple genres from elementary through collegiate levels. Bobby currently is on the faculty at Santa Ana College as an adjunct professor of tuba. Other notable positions include being the graduate assistant conductor for the Azusa Pacific Wind Ensemble as well as Assistant Director for the Azusa Pacific University Marching Band. Bobby was also an instructor for the LAMC educational program and the Philharmonic Society’s Disney Concert Band educational series for second grade in Orange County.

In addition to his music career, Bobby’s leadership skills have led him to be invited to an exclusive leadership course through Disney, Growing Intentional Influence in Leadership. Bobby is currently completing an MBA in Entrepreneurship and has several active business ventures, including LALA Brass, LLC, a produce farm, and real estate short-tern rentals.

Based in Los Angeles, LALA Brass is the perfect fusion of all your favorite musical genres into one exceptional brass band. Taking influences from New Orleans second line, hip hop, rap, Latin, pop, rock, and everything in between, LALA Brass brings audiences a unique sound that they’ve never heard but keeps them coming back for more. The band has a YouTube channel full of unique arrangements, originals, and mash-up videos, gaining them thousands of views and followers since being founded in 2016 by creative director and tuba player Bobby Murray. LALA Brass can be heard performing throughout Southern California as the preeminent entertainment choice for weddings, cocktail hours, private parties, corporate events, or at the hottest new bar in town. Among LALA Brass’s many accolades, the band was a featured performer at the 2018 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival, selected as an opening act for the 2019 NPR Music Tiny Desk Contest On the Road tour stop in Los Angeles, and was featured as Alessia Cara’s horn section at the People’s Choice Awards in 2019 for her performance of “Rooting for You.”

2020 saw the entertainment industry ravaged by the pandemic, leading LALA to shift their focus away from live performance and instead toward a solely online medium. This included the band finding unique and innovative new ways to produce content in a safe yet still impactful way. The band also took this time to utilize their platform for a greater good, emphasizing inclusion, diverse thought, and reimagination of the status quo – ultimately driving the “why” behind the music.
